We use two of these in 230cm size in our IK and our little raft. Love them. The two pieces fit without any slop. The blades enter and exit the water very smoothly. The aluminum shaft can get HOT if left in the sun. I'll drop it in the water to cool it off if it's been baking for a while. A great product from a US company. I bought min from oceankayaksales.com and have used it nearly every weekend since.

I used a FG Wave paddle on a lengthy kayak trip this summer and couldn't agree more with the article above -- 5 out of 5! I paddled 300 km in 6.5 days using this paddle, and it was great! About a month later, I paddled another 130 km and only switched to my spare paddle, a slightly lighter one (but with a much smaller blade) for the last 60 km or so. The Wave is great -- even after being disconnected and reconnected lots (not every night though), it remains rigid. Others become wobbly.

Only one con I can think of, and not one that can be helped: the large blade catches wind. In a headwind, I was forced to make my strokes much shorter and lower. I was a little afraid one blade might catch a gust and rip my shoulder out of joint, so I was careful and kept my strokes conservative!

That's it!

Cannon Wave Kayaks are the best in the world. But the paddles suck.
