The Clam Ice Buster ice fishing reel and rod combo is an excellent rig to catch crappies and walleye. Though available at an incredibly low price, the Ice Buster really delivers on the key features you crave as an ice fisherman. Approved and endorsed by “Mr. Ice Fishing”, Dave Genz, the high performance Clam Ice Buster boasts a solid fiberglass rod for incredible sensitivity, and the Ice Buster spinning reel for silky smooth operation.
The fiberglass rod features top notch stainless steel Dynaflow guides, an incredibly handy hook keeper, plus a water resistant P-cork handle with adjustable graphite locking slide rings for a universal grip regardless of hand size. When you combine the durability and sensitivity of this fiberglass rod, you’ll find it bring an ultimate value to the Clam Ice Buster ice fishing rod and reel combo.
The Ice Buster ice fishing reel features two ball bearings for ultra smooth reel operation and control. The rear drag engagement operates with the flick of the switch, providing unlimited control and stability when you need it most. The Ice Buster fishing reel also comes with a reversible handle and is spooled with 4lb. test line; making it ready to go right out of the package.
Overall Review
My overall review of the Clam Ice Buster ice fishing reel and rod combo is a 4 out of 5. This rod and reel combo is truly worth every penny. If you are looking for a backup setup or an entry level rig, you can’t beat the value of the Ice buster combo. I found during my review that the Ice Buster featured a smooth reel and a surprisingly sensitive rod. For such an inexpensive combo, you can’t beat the performance of the rod and reel.

I really love this ice fishing setup! The reel and rod are way better than the price leads on. If you are looking for an entry level combo or just need an extra pole, the Clam Ice Buster is a great place to start. I used mine all last year on the Boundary Waters in northern Minnesota, and it held up well time and time again. Try it and you won’t be disappointed!
