The Wilderness Systems Tarpon 130T kayak is a great sit on top kayak for both single and tandem kayakers. Although the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 130T kayak is built to handle two paddlers comfortably, it provides more than ample performance while paddling solo. With the spacious tankwell and two hatches for cargo storage, the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 130T kayak is all set for your next kayak excursion.
Pros
The Wilderness Systems Tarpon 130T kayak is very light for its accommodating size. At a mere 65 lb., the Tarpon 130T proves that great things come in light packages. Plenty of storage and a comfortable pad for your back outfit the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 130T kayak to be a definant crowd pleaser.
Cons
In my opinion, the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 130T kayak could use a seat pad for your bottom. Although they did a fantastic job forming the seat to be as comfortable as possible, it’s still just the plastic hull. If you are thinking about buying a Wilderness Systems Tarpon 130T kayak, make sure you factor kayak seat pads into the budget. Also, I found that it didn’t live up to its claims as a viable solo sit on top kayak.
Overall Review
I would rate my overall review of the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 130T kayak as 3.5 out of 5. While I truly enjoyed the comfortable backrest, I found myself wondering where the butt cushion was. I did however enjoy the ample cargo space and 550 lb. weight capacity. But I wouldn’t even think about this tandem kayak if you plan on paddling solo.
